The importance for the correct hygienic of fitness equipment

As per the reports by numerous and authoritative sources, the presence of dangerous bacteria has been detected on the most common fitness equipment: free weights, exercise bikes and treadmills. According to a survey report published on the US site FitRated, the swabs taken from the surfaces of these tools have proven the presence of saliva, blood, mucus and bacteria of the type Listeria, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, E. Coli. The same problems as in gyms have been also found in pools.

The study shows that a gym bike has a number of bacteria 39 times more than a counter of a bar, while a free weight handle has about 362 times more germs than the tablet of a toilet.

Treadmills showed an amount of bacteria 74 times higher than that one commonly present on the taps in a public restroom.

These figures are frightening, but we can secure our hygiene life with a few simple rules, such as cleaning and sanitizing our equipment before and after use.

For such purpose FULLGYM produces GYMSAN, a special spray sanitizer for a frequent treatment of fitness/gym equipment and premises, ensuring a top level of hygienic condition to any surface exposed to human contacts and preventing the formation of germs, bacteria and mildew.

It is also very recommended for lockers, changing rooms, showers, clothing and footwear.
